Dear,

Yesterday we finished the first elemination of the competition. In the first
heat I had to face JauJou, he is known for he’s extreme kiteloops in hard wind,
so i thought that this 45 knots could be a big advantage for him.
I was riding on a five meter and had a very good heat, the crowd was also in the
mood! Again I was doing tricks I never landed in this wind before and Jaujou
crashed very hard in the beginning in the heat. (it took him about a minute to
recover!).
I won the heat and had to face Miguel Willis. I won quite easy from him which
ment I advanced to the finals!!

Sander Lenten, the Dutch riders who was already this whole competition on fire
became my competitor.

One minute before the heat the wind slightly dropped, and I was underpowered on
my five.
I could not land my best tricks anymore and lost the heat.

Still a very close heat is what the judges told me. I am very happy with this
second place!!

There were a lot of media, with live broadcast all over greece. I also did
several interviews for mags and television.

After all a result which made me very, very happy!

Have a nice day,

Leander

PS:

On their website they say:

Despite this very long competition day the riders, the staff and the public staid
on the beach and enjoyed a great Beach Party offered by the local organization.

Sunday, 12.45, let’s come back to the Freestyle single elimination for Men and Women.

To complete the single elimination of men and women, 10 heats will be run. Each
heat lasts 7 minutes and there are only 3 minutes transition between 2 heats. 3
minutes to get ready and 7 minutes to win!

The Spanish rider Ainhoa Garcia proved that she is determined to reach the
highest step of the podium by winning this first round.

On the men side, the struggle was very tight. Miguel Willis from Australia really
pushed hard to reach the 3rd step of the podium. The Belgian Leander Vyvey felt
really at ease on the water and managed to win the 2nd place. Nevertheless, the
one who surprised everybody and made the difference is Sander Lenten from Holand.
He went through his heats successfully and finished 1st.
